Lincoln Memorial
Thank you to all DC Dance Challenge 2009 Participants. Looking forward to the II DC Dance Challenge - October 11 2009 - Save the date!!

This is the first edition of a Dancing Trip to the capital of USA designed for dancers that want to have a good time touring, partying, performing, competing and most of all dancing. The events were carefully planned to explore the best features of partner dancing in this area.

In our Dancing Menu you will have a substantial starter:
"Rock the Boat" Dinner and Dance Party aboard the "Spirit of the Seas" on Saturday night to welcome our guests from out of town. Cruising by the lighted monuments of DC, with great food, music and dancing.

The main weekend attraction will be the Dancesport Competition during the day on Sunday. The "DC Dance Challenge" is organized by local members of the USSDC, with all competitive dances and levels, plus Salsa, and Argentine Tango. It will have also newcomers friendly features as optional uncontested entries, and judges scoring . This Competition will be followed by a fine Dinner at the "Irish Inn" restaurant.

To complete this great weekend we will have a Dance Party with an open Showcase featuring: "Dancing with the Starz". You and your teacher are the Stars with the participation of all local studios and traveling guests. The American Dance Montage, choreographed by Frank Regan, will perform the final numbers.

The Competition events and the showcase will take place at the Magnific "Spanish Ballroom" at the Glen Echo Park. This beautifully restored 1933 Mediterranean style Art Deco building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is one of the best dance halls on the east coast.
